Once there, we'll explore the majestic Rouen Cathedral, a Gothic architectural marvel that inspired Claude Monet's famous series of paintings. Wander through the medieval streets, passing by the historic Gros Horloge, an ornate astronomical clock that has marked time since the 14th century.

Settle into your comfortable accommodation in Rouen, where we'll be based for the next few days. Dinner at the hotel is included.

Day 3 · 23 June 2027

Château de Miromesnil · Le Jardin des Valérianes

Breakfast & lunch included Stay: Radisson Blu Rouen — or similar

This morning, we journey to the Château de Miromesnil, a charming 16th-century castle surrounded by ancient beech groves. This estate is not only the birthplace of famed writer Guy de Maupassant, but also home to beautifully manicured gardens. We'll explore the walled kitchen garden, a delightful blend of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees arranged in artistic patterns — a perfect example of the French tradition of combining ornamental and edible plants. We'll have lunch here before leaving for our next visit, Le Jardin des Valérianes.

Le Jardin des Valérianes is a tranquil garden oasis known for its harmonious mix of colours, scents and textures. The garden is divided into two distinct areas: an informal cottage-style garden with winding paths and intimate corners, and a collector's garden showcasing an impressive variety of shrubs and trees. The owners have meticulously crafted these spaces to create a serene atmosphere that invites contemplation and relaxation.

We return to Rouen in the evening, where you can relax before dinner on your own.

Day 4 · 24 June 2027

Le Jardin de l'Angélique · Les Jardins Agapanthe

Breakfast, Lunch, & dinner included Stay: Radisson Blu Rouen — or similar

This morning, we visit Le Jardin de l'Angélique, a garden created in memory of the owners' daughter, Angélique. The garden exudes a sense of peace and love, with a harmonious blend of colours, scents and designs. Meandering paths lead through lush plantings, and secluded spots invite quiet reflection. The garden's informal areas are perfect for a leisurely stroll or for finding a quiet bench to sit and soak in the serene atmosphere.

After lunch here, we travel to Les Jardins Agapanthe.

Les Jardins Agapanthe was created by landscape architect Alexandre Thomas. The garden serves as both his personal retreat and a showcase for his innovative design concepts. Spanning approximately 1.5 acres, it is a dynamic space where contemporary style meets imaginative landscaping. The garden is laid out as a series of themed areas connected by winding paths, each offering a unique atmosphere and unexpected surprises. Here we can explore a rich diversity of plant species, reflecting Thomas's passion for horticulture.

We return to Rouen in the evening, where you'll have time to relax before dinner, which is included.

Day 5 · 25 June 2027

Étretat Cliffs · Les Jardins d'Étretat

Breakfast included Stay: Radisson Blu Rouen — or similar

Our day begins with a scenic drive to the coastal town of Étretat, renowned for its dramatic white cliffs, natural arches and the pointed "Needle" rock formation. These breathtaking landscapes have inspired artists and writers for generations.

We'll visit Les Jardins d'Étretat, an avant-garde garden perched atop the cliffs, offering panoramic views of the English Channel. The garden combines masterful topiary with contemporary art installations, creating a surreal environment where nature and art intertwine. As we wander through the sculpted greenery, we'll appreciate the innovative design that challenges traditional garden concepts.

After exploring the gardens, you'll have free time to enjoy Étretat. Perhaps visit local art galleries, savour fresh seafood at a seaside café, or simply relax on the beach. Lunch is on your own.

We return to Rouen in time for dinner, which is not included.

Day 6 · 26 June 2027

Free Time in Rouen · Le Bois des Moutiers · Le Jardin Plume

Breakfast & dinner included Stay: Radisson Blu Rouen — or similar

This morning is yours to explore Rouen at your leisure. You might choose to visit the Museum of Fine Arts, housing an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures and drawings. Or perhaps wander the historic streets, discovering boutique shops, quaint cafés and the vibrant local culture.

After lunch on your own, we visit Le Bois des Moutiers in Varengeville-sur-Mer. This remarkable Arts and Crafts garden was laid out with the influence of Gertrude Jekyll around a house designed by Edwin Lutyens, and is one of the finest examples of the English Arts and Crafts garden tradition on the French coast. The garden combines architectural structure, sea views, woodland planting and richly composed borders, creating a deeply atmospheric setting where house, garden and landscape are beautifully integrated.

Later, we continue to Le Jardin Plume, a modern garden that beautifully blends formal structure with naturalistic planting. Influenced by Dutch designer Piet Oudolf, the garden features ornamental grasses, perennials and beautifully clipped hedges. The "Feather Garden" lives up to its name, with plants swaying gently in the breeze, creating a dynamic landscape that is both elegant and full of life. It is a garden that cannot be compared to any other, offering a unique experience that delights the senses.

We return to Rouen for the evening. Dinner is included.
